Powerful Dhikr and Ruqyah to Heal from Sihr (Black Magic)

Introduction

Allah says in the Quran:

"And We send down of the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers." (Quran 17:82)

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment." (Bukhari, 5678)

Sihr (black magic), evil eye (hasad), and jinn possession are real afflictions mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah. But Allah has given us powerful weapons: His Words, His Names, and sincere supplication.

Understanding Sihr (Black Magic)

What is Sihr?

Sihr (سحر) is black magic or sorcery—using jinn, spells, or evil practices to harm others.

Allah mentions it in the Quran:

"They follow what the devils recited during the reign of Sulaiman. It was not Sulaiman who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic." (Quran 2:102)

Signs You May Be Affected:

⚠️ Sudden hatred toward spouse or family

⚠️ Chronic nightmares

⚠️ Unexplained illness doctors can't diagnose

⚠️ Extreme anxiety or depression

⚠️ Hearing voices or seeing strange things

⚠️ Inability to focus on worship

⚠️ Physical symptoms that move around the body

⚠️ Feeling heaviness or tightness in chest

⚠️ Strong aversion to Quran or prayer

Important: Always consult medical professionals first. Many symptoms have medical causes.

The Most Powerful Quranic Protection

1. Ayat al-Kursi (The Greatest Verse)

"Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great." (Quran 2:255)

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except death." (Nasa'i, 9928 - Sahih)

"Whoever recites it when going to bed, Allah will send a guardian to protect him, and Shaytan will not approach him until morning." (Bukhari, 5010)

How to use:

  • Recite 3 times in the morning
  • Recite 3 times in the evening
  • Recite once after every Salah
  • Recite before sleep
  • Recite over water and drink it

2. Surah Al-Fatihah (The Opening) - The Cure

The Prophet ﷺ called it "Ash-Shifa" (The Healing).

A companion recited it over a man stung by a scorpion, and he was cured immediately. (Bukhari, 5736)

How to use:

  • Recite 7 times over yourself
  • Recite over water, oil, or honey
  • Blow on your hands and wipe over your body
  • Use as the opening of any Ruqyah

3. Al-Mu'awwidhatayn (The Two Protections)

Surah Al-Falaq (113) and Surah An-Nas (114)

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"No one seeks refuge with anything like them." (Abu Dawud, 1463 - Sahih)

"Recite them in the morning and evening, three times each, and they will suffice you against everything." (Abu Dawud, 5082 - Sahih)

Full text of Surah Al-Falaq:

"Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, From the evil of that which He created, And from the evil of darkness when it settles, And from the evil of the blowers in knots [sorcerers], And from the evil of an envier when he envies.'" (Quran 113:1-5)

Full text of Surah An-Nas:

"Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the retreating whisperer - Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind - From among the jinn and mankind.'" (Quran 114:1-6)

How to use:

  • Recite 3 times each in morning and evening
  • Recite before sleep
  • Blow into cupped hands and wipe over entire body
  • Recite over yourself or the afflicted person

4. Last Two Verses of Surah Al-Baqarah

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him." (Bukhari, 5009 & Muslim, 808)

"The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], 'We make no distinction between any of His messengers.' And they say, 'We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination.' Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. 'Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.'" (Quran 2:285-286)

How to use:

  • Recite every night before sleep
  • Protection from Shaytan until morning

5. First Four Verses of Surah Al-Baqarah

"Alif, Lam, Meem. This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah - Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]." (Quran 2:1-4)

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Shaytan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited." (Muslim, 780)

6. Surah Al-Ikhlas (The Sincerity)

"Say, 'He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent.'" (Quran 112:1-4)

The Prophet ﷺ said: "It is equivalent to one-third of the Quran." (Bukhari, 5013)

How to use:

  • Recite 3 times = equivalent to reading entire Quran
  • Recite 10 times, Allah builds you a house in Paradise

The Most Powerful Prophetic Duas

"Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim"

Say this 3 times morning and evening.

Translation: "In the Name of Allah we enter, in the Name of Allah we leave, and upon Allah our Lord we depend."

"A'udhu billahis-Sami'il-'Alimi minash-Shaytanir-rajim, min hamzihi wa nafkhihi wa nafthih"

Translation: "I seek refuge with Allah, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the accursed Shaytan, from his madness, his arrogance, and his poetry."

Sihr-Specific Verses

These verses directly address magic and its nullification:

From Surah Al-A'raf (7:117-122):

"And We inspired to Musa, 'Throw your staff,' and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. And they were overcome right there and became debased."

From Surah Yunus (10:81-82):

"And when they had thrown, Musa said, 'What you have brought is [only] magic. Indeed, Allah will expose its worthlessness. Indeed, Allah does not amend the work of corrupters.' And Allah will establish the truth by His words, even if the criminals dislike it."

From Surah Ta-Ha (20:69):

"And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. What they have crafted is but the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is."

Recite these verses repeatedly during Ruqyah.

Seeking Help from a Righteous Raqi

If self-Ruqyah doesn't help after consistent effort (40+ days), seek a legitimate Islamic healer who:

  • Uses only Quran and authentic Sunnah
  • Doesn't charge exorbitant fees
  • Doesn't claim to see jinn or communicate with them
  • Doesn't ask for personal items (hair, clothes, photos)
  • Doesn't give amulets with unknown writings
  • Is known for piety and good character
  • Treats men and women separately with mahram present

AVOID anyone who:

  • Uses numbers, symbols, or incomprehensible writings
  • Burns strange items
  • Asks you to sacrifice animals in specific ways
  • Claims to control jinn
  • Asks for large sums of money upfront

The Power of Sabr (Patience)

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that." (Bukhari, 5641 & Muslim, 2573)

Your trial is:

  • Purifying your sins
  • Testing your faith
  • Raising your rank
  • Teaching you to rely only on Allah

Be patient. Victory is near.

"So indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease." (Quran 94:5-6)

Important Reminders

1. Healing is from Allah Alone

No dhikr, verse, or person heals—only Allah heals through them.

2. Strengthen Your Connection with Allah

Magic affects the weak-hearted. Strengthen your faith through:

  • Knowledge of Tawhid
  • Regular worship
  • Avoiding sins

3. Be Consistent

Don't give up after a few days. Healing may take weeks or months.

4. Have Full Yaqeen (Certainty)

Doubt weakens the effect of Ruqyah. Believe with certainty that Allah will heal you.

5. This is Not Shirk

Using Quranic verses for healing is Sunnah, not shirk, as long as you believe Allah is the true Healer.

Final Dua for Healing

"Allahumma Rabban-nas, adhhib al-ba's, washfi anta ash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uka, shifa'an la yughadiru saqama"

Translation: "O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm and heal. You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind."

(Bukhari, 5743 & Muslim, 2191)

Conclusion

Sihr is real, but Allah's power is infinitely greater.

The same words that created the universe can destroy any magic, break any spell, and heal any affliction.

Arm yourself with:

  • Quran
  • Authentic dhikr
  • Regular worship
  • Strong faith
  • Patience

And remember: "Indeed, the plan of Shaytan has ever been weak." (Quran 4:76)
